SCHS RELEASES THE 340 ISSUE OF AL MANAL E-MAGAZINE

The 340 issue of Al Manal E-Magazine for June 2019, which is part of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) publications, released.  Her Highness Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Vice President of Supreme Council for Family Affairs & Director General of SCHS, is the chief editor. The publication aims at educating the Arab family, providing it with information, theoretical, and applied knowledge as well as training programs and raising their health awareness.

In “Research and Studies” section, Mr. Mustafa Ibrahim Al-Duwaini prepared a study on Safety Guide for using water by caregivers, professionals, and meeting the needs of individuals with autism spectrum disorder. Mr. Foudah Fattouh al-Askari, prepared a study on stuttering, its symptoms, causes and ways of treatment.

In addition, we read a study by Mr. Bassem Ahmed Abdel Ghaffar on the scale to measure the perfecting of Arabic Sign Language.  Mrs. Farizah Mahmoud Abdel Hadi provides us with a study on the appropriate games for children from the age of 3 to 6 months.  Dr. Lotfi Abdel-Aziz El-Sherbini, prepared a study about regular dreams and day dreaming from psychiatry viewpoint.

In Al Manal “Culture and Literature” section, Mrs. Shakra Rashid has written an article entitled (Ramadan banquets).  Mr. Hisham Kattami prepared a material about Alexithymia, which is a personality construct characterized by the subclinical inability to identify and describe emotions in the self.  Al Manal Editor Mr. Osama Mardini has written a presentation for the film "My Life before You" and the euthanasia.  Mr. Mazen Quqas translated a letter by Athena Stevens to the Creatives from 'Me before You' movie in order to make a place for persons with disabilities in the society. Dr. Ghassan Shahrour has written about the Muslim Scholar Ibin El Nafyes valuable books that publishers displayed once again in Damascus.

Al Manal “Activities and Events” section is full of news.  To begin, Salem bin Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi honors SCHS partners.  Highness Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Vice President of Supreme Council for Family Affairs & Director General of SCHS, honors participants in Zakat campaign.

Moreover, SCHS issues its third Sustainability Report.  SCHS signs a memorandum with the Kuwait Hospital in Dubai as part of its continued efforts to consolidate the relationships of cooperation with local, regional, and international bodies and institutions to provide the best services to persons with disabilities according the best practices worldwide.

In “Social Issues” section, we read about the marriage of persons with disabilities by Mr. Fahim Sultan al-Qudsi.  We also read about traditional and electronic bullying and its impact on persons with disabilities by Basima Mowaffaq al-Omari. Mr. Mazen Quqas translated an article entitled (Mental Illness Is the Most Neglected Health Problem in the Developing World).

“Life” section includes a deep experience for the mother of student Maha Abdel Rahman the Chairperson of Early Intervention Centre Mothers Council. We read the success story of Mr. Hassan Ali and an interview with the pioneer in robots Mohammad Salah by Mr. Ahmed El Hefnawi.  

As usual, we read in “Opinion” section a variety of articles.   We read an invitation by Mr. Sylvana Lakkis to stop calling persons with disabilities with offensive names that deprive them from their identity and humanity.  Mr. Sami Jamil has written about teaching Arabic Language to the deaf via sign language through the visual image (written).  Dr. Fayez Shalati has written about the Montessori approach, the lighthouse sparkling in education. The teacher Nur Al-Nabi Badr has written an article entitled "You Still Do not Know Me,” Finally, Mr. Zeid Bin Mohammed Al-Ramani talks about the skills of a smart wife.
