The United Arab Emirates strongly supports the provision of educational services for people with disabilities, as the state constitution guarantees the right to education for people with disabilities through Federal Law No. 29 of 2006 regarding the rights of people with disabilities, as amended by Federal Law No. 14 of 2009. The law provides for equal rights, care and opportunities for people with disabilities in the fields of education, health care, rehabilitation and training.

UAE Centennial 2071 in the educational aspect as the best educational methods and practices by developing the strengths of each student, developing an inclusive system in the fields of education, vocational and higher education, providing highly qualified teachers and specialists in educating people with disabilities. Universities and educational institutes should create Sub-disciplines of education for people with disabilities.

Based on the vision and mission of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) in “advocating, including and empowering people with disabilities with education, rehabilitation and employment to be active participants in their community”, (SCHS) was keen to make this vision a reality by establishing the Inclusive Education Unit in 2017. The unit considers inclusion not just a model of special education. It is an approach of thinking that includes all members of society.

The idea and objectives of the virtual forum on the quality of inclusive education

First Objective: adopting institutional learning curricula & activating innovation management & knowledge production

The second goal: achieving sustainability in human, financial and technical resources

Third Objective: Developing the scope and quality of services and facilitating the beneficiaries' access to services
