Dec 14, 2019

Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) received delegates from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), which gives accreditation to institutions working in disability, rehabilitation, health care, and treatment from around the world. This is part of SCHS senior management efforts to develop and improve the services and programs offered to persons with disabilities, to correspond to the best international practices and acquire an international accreditation.

CARF's accreditation aims to ensure the continuous improvement of the application of internationally recognized standards for enterprise programs and services in order to meet the needs of stakeholders while ensuring efficiency, quality and satisfaction with the services provided to them.

The value of accreditation lies in the fact that it allows the organization to improve business with service excellence and strategy in quality, vision, positivity and risk management as well as develop business strategies and competitive excellence, and activate relationships with partners.  In addition, the organization will consolidate the relationships of cooperation with the stakeholder to receive financing.

CARF's endorsement supports the concepts of empowerment, quality, sustainability, productivity and cooperation. As for its message, it revolves around enhancing the quality and value and providing the best services through advisory accreditation and continuous improvement of the services offered to persons with disabilities.

CARF has five main categories including administrative and technical services, quality of individual services, support, employment services, and children and youth services within the category of people with autism spectrum disorder.  These categories include 41 main standards and 389 sub-standards.
