A FRENCH ASSOCIATION VISITS SCHS
The French "FAZIL" Association for People with Disabilities, led by its director, Mrs. Marie Christine Comette, sent a group to Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) for three days in a row. Six individuals with physical disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and intellectual disabilities were part of the delegation.
The visit's objectives were to learn about the educational, athletic, and artistic services that SCHS offers to its students with disabilities in accordance with best practices, to strengthen international collaboration and partnerships, to share experiences, and to plan future joint cultural, athletic, and artistic programs and visits between the two sides.
Promoting Social Inclusion
In order to foster social integration and individual skills among the students, the visit program featured a variety of sporting and artistic events and activities in which SCHS students and members of the French Association participated under the guidance of physical education and art teachers.
SCHS also organized a tourist program for the visiting delegation, during which they visited the most prominent tourist and cultural landmarks in the Emirates of Sharjah and Dubai, reflecting the authentic Emirati culture and allowing them to learn about the rich cultural experience of the United Arab Emirates.
An Important Step To Enhance Cooperation
In a meeting with a delegation from the French association “FAZIL”, Her Excellency Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of SCHS, welcomed the visiting delegation. Her Excellency stressed that the visit represents an important step in strengthening cooperation and coordination between the two sides in academic, technical and social fields, stressing that exchanging experiences with international institutions contributes to raising the level of services provided to people with disabilities.
Her Excellency said: “We always strive to provide an integrated educational, artistic and sports environment for people with disabilities. Exchanging experiences with international institutions allows both sides to benefit from the best global practices and develop programs that serve our humanitarian and educational goals.”
Her Excellency also welcomed the French Association's invitation for several SCHS students to take part in the summer program that the organization is planning for next summer, emphasizing that these programs help to improve social and cultural interaction between students from various nations and open up new opportunities for them to share experiences and skills.
