HER HIGHNESS SHEIKHA JAMEELA CONGRATULATES STUDENTS WITH HEARING IMPAIRMENT ON

Dec 12, 2019

Her Highness Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director General of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS), congratulated the two students (Abdel Rahman Nasser and Khalifa Abdel Ghafour) on their win of the first and second places in the 24 UCMAS international competition.  More than 3850 students from 37 countries participated in the competition, which took place in Cambodia.

She said, “SCHS gives great care to globalism by setting strategic plans to achieve the best results.  Education is a priority for us.  Thus, SCHS stays tuned with the latest trends and updates in this field”.

She pointed out that SCHS seeks to consolidate the relationships of cooperation with local, regional, and international bodies and organizations to offer the best services to persons with disabilities including those with hearing impairment.  The cooperation between SCHS and Developing Children Skills Center resulted in this win throughout training students to reach advanced level.

This is the first time that students with hearing impairment participate in UCMAS competition along with hearing peers.  This makes the achievement, which we dedicate to Her Highness Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director General of SCHS, and to all the workers in this prestigious organization, so special.  SCHS has been serving persons with disabilities since 40 years according to the best international practices

Al Amal School for the Deaf is the first school for persons with hearing impairment to participate in this international competition.  School’s interest in this contest is not restricted to science, it offers students with hearing impairment new horizons of thinking and fields of self-development, skills development and integration with their hearing peers. It will continue to offer the training program to students in the future.

Her Highness Sheikha Jameela believes that this accomplishment is not restricted to SCHS; it is an accomplishment for Sharjah and United Arab Emirates.  All the credit goes to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

Finally, Her Highness Sheikha Jameela directed her sincerest thanks to the team that participated in the teaching and training of students. She also thanked Developing Children Skills Center and trainer Rania Al-Tijani for their efforts and fruitful cooperation. She hoped to achieve more results locally, regionally and globally.
