KHALIDIYAH SUBURB COUNCIL DONATES 70 THOUSAND DIRHAMS TO SUPPORT SCHS PROGRAMS
His Excellency Khalfan Saeed Al-Marri, Chairman of the Khalidiya Suburb Council, has confirmed that social responsibility is not limited to institutions or individuals. It is rather a civilized culture and behavior. All institutions must understand and realize the deep meanings of social responsibility so as all members of society.
Al-Marri praised the cooperation with the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) when he donated (seventy thousand dirhams) to SCHS. Ms. Mona Abdul Karim Al-Yafei, Director of SCHS, who visited the council on Sunday, December 26, 2021, received the donation. It aims at developing and strengthening cooperation relations between the two sides, in the presence of the Vice-Chairman of the Khalidiya District Council Mohammed Rashid bin Jerash and Mr. Ali Saif Al-Abdouli, a member of the Rahmaniyah Suburb Council.
The Chairman of the Khalidiya Suburb Council also praised the modern methods of education provided by SCHS to persons with disabilities under the supervision of the most skilled specialists. He stressed that the educational level in SCHS is not less than the highest international standards.
Al Marri directed his sincerest thanks to Her Excellency Sheikha Jamila bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, Director General of SCHS, and to all her workers who are making efforts to include, advocate and empower persons with disabilities. They are also trying to raise community’s awareness in preparation for their inclusion and improve their quality of life. He wished them continued success.
For her part, Ms. Mona Abdul Karim Al-Yafei praised the council's continuous support for the services provided by SCHS. She highly valued its keenness on the principles of social responsibility. She stressed that SCHS is working hard to consolidate and develop cooperation with institutions and authorities on local, regional and international levels.
Al Yafei also emphasized SCHS’s great interest in spreading the culture of volunteering and community outreach and achieving sustainability in this field. SCHS always works to raise awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities and their integration into society. She called on the members of the community, each according to his/her position and ability, to assume this responsibility and contribute to a better reality and future for persons with disabilities.
Ms. Mona concluded by saying that SCHS's doors are open to all institutions and individuals wishing to volunteer and support the rights of persons with disabilities in all fields.
