THE RED CRESCENT IN FUJAIRAH DONATES 60 THOUSAND DIRHAMS TO SCHS BRANCH IN KALLBA

Ms. Asmaa Mohammed Al Darmaki, the Director of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) Branch in Kallba, has praised the ongoing cooperation with the UAE Red Crescent Society (Fujairah Branch), which donated sixty thousand Dirhams to the branch yesterday in order to buy some equipment for sensory development room.  This room offers services to students with disabilities according to the best practices worldwide.

H.E Abdulla Al-Dhahnani, Director of the Red Crescent Branch in Fujairah, and a number of delegates visited Kallba branch to hand over the donation check.  Guests toured the branch in order to have a closer look at the activities, programs, and services offered to persons with disabilities on the hands of the most skilled specialists in the field.

According to Ms. Asmaa Darmaki, the number of students with disabilities enrolled in SCHS branch in Kallba has reached 76 in the last academic year.  The branch offered them specialized services according to their individual needs.

She said, “The sensory room contributes to the development of children with disabilities cognitive and sensory skills and interaction with the surrounding environment. It also helps improve children’s attention, establish visual communication, and increase their concentration”.

The Director of SCHS Branch in Kallba pointed out the harmony between branch’s objectives and the overall strategic objectives of SCHS, which is a leading organization in advocating, including, and empowering persons with disabilities. SCHS seeks to reduce the causes of disability throughout early intervention and raising people’s awareness in collaboration with local and international partner.

Ms. Asma confirmed the importance of integrating students with disabilities into the society and follow-up the process to find out the results.

Ms. Asmaa Darmaki directed her sincerest thanks to the UAE Red Crescent Society (Fujairah Branch) for their generous donation, which raises people’s awareness of the concept of social responsibility, with her best wishes of success to all workers.

Notably, Sharjah City Humanitarian Services established Kallba branch in 2006 upon the instructions of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
