Jun 27, 2019

Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) adds a new accomplishment to its long record.  Ms. Leena Bilal Fadel Al Tamimi, an Administrative Assistance in SCHS Office of Planning and Follow-up, won the second place in Ramadan Contest for memorizing Surat Al-Kahf (2019), which Sharjah Foundation for the Holy Quran and Sunnah organized for governmental and semi-governmental institutions in Sharjah.

Ms. Leena was very proud of this accomplishment.  She confirmed that this would motivate her to achieve more in the future.

She said, “I dedicate my achievement to Her Highness Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Vice President of Supreme Council for Family Affairs & Director General of SCHS, Ms. Khadija Ahmed Bamakhramah, Head of SCHS Office of Planning and Follow-up, and to all the workers and employees of SCHS”.

On the other hand, the academic year (2018 – 2019) witnessed so many accomplishments by SCHS.  For example, Microsoft Corporation selected Al Amal School for the Deaf as a showcase school for the fourth year in a raw.  SCHS Centre for Early Intervention won Fatima bint Mubarak Award for Motherhood & Childhood.  The center deserved the honoring of Child Early Intervention Medical Centre in Dubai as the best center for early intervention.

Last year was full of giving and achievements as well.  For example, SCHS acquired membership of Sharjah Child Protection Network as the first institute to do so in Sharjah Emirate.  In addition, SCHS opened Al Zahayah Smart Farm in SCHS Branch of Khorfakhan.  SCHS deserved the honoring of Emirates Environmental Group for its role in coordinating for (Clean UAE) Campaign since its beginning several years ago.

SCHS students achieved so much this year. For example, Abdul-Rahman bin Saeed Rashid Al Badi from Al Wafa for the Capacity Development won the third place in Prince Sultan bin Salman Award for the Holy Quran for children with disabilities. The students of Al Amal School for the Deaf participated for the second time in UAE Innovation Month.

In sports, Her Highness Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi honored SCHS athletes, who participated in Abu Dhabi Paralympic Games 2019.  She was very proud of them because they won first places and represented themselves and their institute in the best manner.

In this distinguished year, SCHS proved its excellence during the honoring ceremony of Princess Haya Award for Special Education.  Al Amal School for the Deaf won Special Education Center Award. Mr. Anwar Obeid from SCHS Early Intervention Center won Speech Therapy Specialist of the Year. Mrs. Hanan Zaki, a Teacher of Design and Technology at Al Amal School for the Deaf, won the Best Computer Teacher Award.  Finally, Mr. Hazem Ahmed from Al-Wafaa School for Capacity Development won the Best Physical Therapy Specialist Award.
