SCHS BRANCH IN KALLBA SIGNS THREE MEMORANDUMS OF UNDERSTANDING

As part of efforts made to develop the relationships of cooperation locally, regionally and internationally, Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (Kallba Branch) signed three memorandums of understanding with the Municipality of Kallba, the University of Sharjah in Kallba, and Kallba Sports and Cultural Club. The city aims at providing distinguished services to people with disabilities, and achieving fruitful, purposeful and organized cooperation in the areas of developing services, activities and community events.

According to the memorandum signed with the Kallba Sports Club, the two parties shall cooperate in the implementation of the sports integration program. The city’s students can participate, with the club’s players in unified sports, within the Special Olympics in light of the available capabilities.

They shall also commit to supporting joint media campaigns through social media and official approved channels. They shall encourage employees to do volunteer work and community participation in organized activities and events related to this memorandum.

According to the memorandum signed with the University of Sharjah in Kallba, the two sides shall encourage the visits of graduate students and staff working for them for the purposes of training, sharing experiences, delivering lectures. They shall also encourage conducting joint researches, participating in conferences that they hold in a way that contributes to developing the competence of the working cadres on both sides.

The two parties shall encourage students and employees to do volunteer work and community participation in organized activities and events. In addition, they shall support media campaigns for both parties through social media and official channels approved by them. They shall cooperate in facilitating the tasks of both parties, each according to their competence.

According to the memorandum signed by the city with the municipality of Kallba city, the two parties shall cooperate in the field of facilitating the access of persons with disabilities to all facilities and buildings. They shall cooperate in selecting appropriate games for persons with disabilities, in the public parks in Kallba. In addition to the possibility of each party using the administrative and technical staff of the other party to serve the objectives of this memorandum.

Ms. Mona Abdul Karim Al-Yafei, Director of the City, highly valued the cooperation of local, Arab and international agencies and institutions with the city in order to provide more services, to people with disabilities, in line with the latest practices in this field.

She said, “Since its establishment, Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services has adopted the rights and issues of persons with disabilities. The city is keen to promote the values of volunteering, initiation and social innovation. It works continuously to raise awareness of these rights in cooperation with local and international bodies and to introduce the issues of persons with disabilities and their needs in order to contribute to their integration and improve their quality of life”.
