SCHS CELEBRATES THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE PAST ACADEMIC YEAR By obtaining CARF international accreditation
The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities and Services (CARF International) awarded Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) international accreditation for its programs and services for the third consecutive year, capping a string of accomplishments over the previous academic year. Additionally, SCHS has obtained the ISO 37000 international standard certificate for corporate governance and the ISO 9001:2015 international standard certificate for the quality management system after passing thorough evaluation and audit procedures that verified the institutional system's compliance with the highest international standards and practices.
Outstanding Achievements
Her Excellency Sheikah Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, President of SCHS, won first place in the Leaders category of the Emirates Award for Creativity for People of Determination, which was held by the Emirates Creativity Association. This was just one of the many notable achievements that SCHS made during the previous academic year. Additionally, among the organizations taking part in the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club's Marine Sports Festival for People of Determination, SCHS students won an honorary shield in addition to achieving advanced positions in sporting events.
In terms of strengthening cooperation and partnerships, SCHS continued to build an integrated system of relationships with governmental, private and academic entities locally and internationally. This resulted in the signing of a number of memorandum of understanding and agreements with leading institutions, in addition to cooperation agreements with a number of entities to develop quality services and projects, which support training and employment opportunities for people with disabilities and enhance their integration into society.
By accepting specialized delegations and exchange visits with organizations involved in the field of disability and rehabilitation, such as those from the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, France, and the United States of America, SCHS has also expanded its regional and global reach. In addition, it has collaborated with governmental organizations and academic and research institutions, which promotes the sharing of experiences and the advancement of professional practices.
As part of consolidating governance and institutional excellence, SCHS has obtained official accreditation from the Sharjah Private Education Authority and the National Qualifications Center as a national qualifications awarding body. It has also strengthened its presence in specialized organizations through qualitative memberships and partnerships, most notably the granting of honorary permanent membership to Her Excellency Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi from the Inclusion International organization for the year 2025 in recognition of her pioneering contributions in empowering people with intellectual disabilities and supporting their rights at the local and global levels.
An Important Milestone in SCHS'S History
The Chairperson of SCHS, Her Excellency Sheikah Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, affirmed that this international accreditation is a significant turning point in the school's history, reflecting its well-established institutional approach to adopting a culture of quality, excellence, and governance and promoting an integrated humanitarian system that prioritizes people.
Her Excellency said: “The SCHS’ attainment of CARF international accreditation, along with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 37000 certifications, is a culmination of SCHS’s continuous efforts to develop its services and programs according to the best international standards, and confirms our commitment to building an institutional system capable of responding to the needs of people with disabilities and their families efficiently and sustainably.”
