SCHS HONORS ITS ABU DHABI PARALYMPIC GAMES 2019 CHAMPIONS

Her Highness Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Vice President of Supreme Council for Family Affairs & Director General of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS), was very proud of the accomplishments made by SCHS students, who participated in Abu Dhabi Paralympic Games 2019.  These accomplishments were not restricted to winning colored medals and first places; it included representing themselves and their organization in the best manner.

She said, “We thank God for these good results of our champions, who set an example and contributed to raising people’s awareness of persons with disabilities who are capable of giving, integrate into society, and compete fairly”.

This happened when Her Highness Sheikha Jameela honored SCHS students, who participated in Abu Dhabi Paralympic Games 2019 and their trainers in the presence of Mrs. Mona Abdel Karim, a number of SCHS administrators, and specialists.

She believes that the bright image, which SCHS champions reflected for themselves, their organization, society, and their morals, is the greatest accomplishment of all.  She asked individuals and institutions in United Arab Emirates to understand this notion and support persons with disabilities.

Her Highness Sheikha Jameela has praised (Unified Heroes Schools) Program launched by Ministry of Education to coincide with Abu Dhabi Paralympic Games 2019.  United Arab Emirates Special Olympics organized the program, which included 18 schools, in collaboration with International Special Olympics Movement.

The program brings persons with mental disability with non-disabled peers in sports and educational activities in order to create classrooms that stimulate healthy activities, remove routine templets, and contribute to integration process.

Her Highness Sheikha Jameela has pointed out that the outstanding performance of champions with disabilities reflect United Arab Emirates government care as well as the vital role of parents and Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, which makes huge efforts in order to advocate, include, and empower persons with disabilities according to the best practices worldwide.

The Director General of SCHS asked SCHS champions and their colleagues to stay fit and exercise as much as possible.  Special thanks went to trainers for the efforts made in order for those champions to succeed.

For their turn, SCHS champions directed their sincerest thanks to Her Highness Sheikha Jameela for her unlimited support to persons with disabilities, in every area of life.  They have confirmed that they are going to work hard in order to achieve more results in the future.
