SCHS PREPARES ITS STRATEGIC PLAN FOR THE NEXT TEN YEARS 2022-2032

Her Excellency Sheikha Jamila bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, Director General of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, has confirmed the importance of having a road map that helps the city in setting priorities, modifying directions, and achieving its vision and mission in a clear manner. This contributes to conveying the city’s message in a clearer manner and facilitating decision-making.

She said, “One of the most important objectives of the new strategic plan for the city 2022-2032 is to root its leading role in national, regional and global institutions, adopt institutional learning curricula, activate innovation management, knowledge production, investment in governance, institutionalize internal systems and processes. In addition, it would develop the scope and quality of services to facilitate access to beneficiaries and work to achieve sustainability in human, financial and technical resources”.

In the new strategic plan, the city commits to its current vision, mission and values. It is keen to motivate its employees to consider this vision, mission and values in all their tasks.

She explained that the city's efforts are continuing to develop its corporate strategy, identify strengths and challenges, build capabilities, and ensure a more sustainable institution work.

For his part, Mr. Tariq Kotb, partner in Excellence for Consulting and Training organization, which cooperated with the city in developing the plan, spoke about the importance of the strategic plan as a cornerstone in the studied progress towards the goals.

He said, “The city's strategic plan for the next ten years will be a successful extension of the previous strategic plan. If we take into account the technological development and rapid changes taking place in the world”.

He added, “One of the most important features of the successful plan is the contribution of the largest number of partners in order to find out all points of view and take them into consideration when adopting the plan. Therefore, the city’s students with disabilities, their parents, city staff, partners and volunteers participated in preparing the plan”.

Fruitful consultative meetings

Mr. Tariq stressed that the methodology of work during the preparation phase of the strategic plan consisted of reviewing all the city’s documents related to the previous strategic and executive plans. They also held consultative meetings with the city’s administrators to get their viewpoints, and then forming a steering committee consisting of nine persons from the city’s cadre to serve as a link between the company and all departments and branches of the city to carry out the research and questionnaires required at this stage.

He pointed out the importance of strategic planning in making the right decision within a set of options, rationing financial and human resources, achieving sustainability. In addition to the importance of team members satisfaction when achieving goals.

In addition to developing city’s relations locally, regionally and globally. The city has distinguished characteristics at all levels due to the human spirit that makes the city provides services for persons with disabilities on the hands of the most skilled specialists and experts working in the field.
