SCHS RELEASES THE 335 ISSUE OF AL MANAL E-MAGAZINE

The 335 issue of Al Manal E-Magazine for January 2019, which is part of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) publications, released.  Her Highness Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Vice President of Supreme Council for Family Affairs & Director General of SCHS, is the chief editor.

The publication aims at educating the Arab family, providing it with information, theoretical, and applied knowledge as well as training programs and raising their health awareness.  It provides consultation, researches, and anything related to bringing up children and social development.  It highlights the issues of women, children, and persons with disabilities and their parents as well as the regulations concerning their lives.

In Al Manal “Researches” section, we read about a study on the educational systematic basics of taking care of innovative persons with hearing impairment in the Arab World by Mr. Elias Tabba.  Mr. Adel Youssef Raslan has written a research on the importance of organizing the classroom environment for children with autism spectrum disorders.

In Al Manal 335 issue, we learn about (Dyslexia) as one of the main problems that face students at school throughout research prepared by Mrs. Ola Mahmoud Mohamed.  Mr. Fodah Fotouh has prepared a study on the enhanced communication and alternatives for persons with disabilities. Mrs. Bessent Hussein Hamid has prepared a research about autism and being not able to imagine, predict, think, and conclude and ways to develop these skills.

In Al Manal “Culture and Literature” section, we read about Sharjah Museums’ release of the first specialized magazine, which is part of (Museum of the Middle East – supporting the best artistic and cultural practices for people with different types of disabilities). The Sharjah Museums Authority is making huge efforts to transform its museums into places accessible to all members of the community.

In the same section, we find briefing for (Innovative Techniques in Teaching Children Pre-school) book.  Mr. Said Ramadan has written about a new approach for mass media.  Mr. Hashim Katae has written about legal translation, its nature, and difficulties.

In “Assistive Technology” section, we read an article about inclusion branding by Al Manal Chief Editor Osama Nadim Mardini. It is an Arabic translation for (Inclusion Branding: Revealing Secrets to Maximize Rate of Return on Investment) Debra Ruh book by Nabil Eid, a Researcher and Expert.

In Al Manal “Activities and Events” section, we read about Al Amal Camp 29, which SCHS organized from December 16 to 21, 2018, under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, under the theme “Let’s Talk about Disability”.  Delegations from GCC countries and two guest delegations from Turkey and Kingdom of Bhutan took part in the event.

In the same section, we read about an upcoming summit for self-advocates in Sharjah next year.  The General Assembly of Inclusion International for Middle East and North Africa (MENA) announced this event during its annual meeting, which took place in the Lebanese Capital Beirut.

In Al Manal 335 issue, we read about UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan who has declared that the country will celebrate 2019 as the ‘Year of Tolerance’. It will seek to highlight the UAE’s role as a global capital for tolerance through “various legislative and policy-oriented goals” designed to instill the values of co-existence and peace.  We also read about the celebrations organized by Al Wafa School for Capacity Development to mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

In “Social Issues” section, we read an article that describes breastfeeding as the precious gift and blessing of God to humans by Dr. Abdul Muttalib Sih.  Mr. Ibrahim Al-Shamlan has written about the great effects of verse and prose.  We read also about the importance of enjoying life in order to live longer.  Mr. Hisham Mohammad Katami has written about tourism and accessibility to all according to international perspectives.  In the same section, we read about the basics of sign language and the rights of persons with hearing impairment.

In “Life” section, we read with great sadness about the passing way of Dr. Taha Ahmed Talat, the Founding President of the Sudanese National Society for the Deaf by Dr. Ghassan Shahrour.

Finally, in “Opinion” section, we read about understanding the behavior of people with autism spectrum disorders through social emotional development.  Dr. Stephen Idelson prepared this material, which was translated by Dr. Yasser bin Mahmoud Fahd.  Mrs. Fatima Al Mazroui has written about the series that leads to excellence. Mr. Mohamed Qassem prepared a material about trained mothers.
