SCHS RELEASES THE 338 ISSUE OF AL MANAL E-MAGAZINE

The 338 issue of Al Manal E-Magazine for April 2019, which is part of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) publications, released.  Her Highness Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Vice President of Supreme Council for Family Affairs & Director General of SCHS, is the chief editor. The publication aims at educating the Arab family, providing it with information, theoretical, and applied knowledge as well as training programs and raising their health awareness.

The Research and Studies section is full of valuable materials. Dr. Ahmed Nabawi Issa prepared a material on the effectiveness of a computer program in the development of the linguistic outcomes of deaf and hard of hearing people.  We can read a study prepared by Dr. Hanan Mohamed Fayad about a computer-enhanced program to develop the written expression skills of students with hearing impairment in secondary school.

We also read a study prepared by Dr. Aousha Al Muhairi on family counseling as a preventive strategy to reduce the problems of deaf and hard of hearing people. We also read the translation provided by Mr. Majid Mahmoud Sami Abdel-Ati on the Guide for Short-term Treatment based on Solutions (3). Finally, Professor Elias Tabba discussed disorders of language and speech (Stuttering), causes and treatment in his article.

In Al Manal “Assistive Technology” section, the editorial staff prepared a material on the Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) test. This is a very expensive test. Therefore, SCHS Audile Unit provides the test to children enrolled in Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services centers, sections, and branches free of charge and at very low price for unregistered children.

In Al Manal “Culture and Literature” section, we read a short story by the researcher Dr. Yasser bin Mahmoud Al-Fahd under the title (My autistic son and the left door of the car!). We also read a translation by Mr. Hashim Katae entitled (Teaching skills beyond knowledge). Professor Saeed Ramadan Alia explores some ideas in the enlightenment story (Silence and Oppression in Rose Oil and Other Things) by the Egyptian writer Dadad Maarouf.

In Al Manal “Activities and Events” section, we read about the reception of Paralympic Games torch by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, who participated in persons with abilities activity.  We can also read about mental disability informative campaign entitled (Let’s Talk about Disability), which Al Wafa School for Capacity Development organized from February 21 to March 19, 2019.  One of campaign’s main events was organizing a conference to introduce journalists to persons with disabilities rights.

Moreover, the members of Arts for All Centre performance was outstanding in the theatrical act "Mirrors of Creativity", which is part of the celebration organized to mark the second anniversary of the center.  Dania Al Shahwani, who is the champion of the Iraqi Swimming Team, directed her sincerest thanks to Her Highness Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Vice President of Supreme Council for Family Affairs & Director General of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, for offering care in her childhood. Emirates Environmental Group honors Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services.  Dr. Heba Hagras in the Egyptian parliament demands to grant persons with hearing impairment driving licenses.

In addition, we can read His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, speech in the International Forum of Government Communication.  We read also about the invitation to the fifth International Conference of the International Association of Sign Language Interpreters that is going to take place in Paris, France from 15 to 19 July 2019.  In order to mark World Down Syndrome Day, Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services leaves no one behind.

In “Social Issues” section, we read a topic prepared by the Department of Social Service in SCHS on the prevention of Alzheimer’s before it appears. We read an article on the politeness in public life by Professor Hisham Mohammed Ktami. We identify the behavioral problems of adolescents at home and school through an article prepared by Mr. Mohammed Qasim. We read by Professor Noura Sharabi about the real beauty. Mr. Mahmoud Allam has written an article about parents feeling when they give birth to a child with Down syndrome.

“Life” section includes a success story by Mrs. Dooah El-Dardiri about student Ayah Waled, who began her journey from SCHS Early Intervention Center to public schools.  We also read a story for a mother with two disabled children.  We learn about the services offered to more than 225 students with disabilities by Al Wafa School for Capacity Development (Al Ramalah) Branch.

In “Opinion” section, Mrs. Sylvana Lakis calls for a unique shift to create hope for persons with disabilities. Ms. Maha Adel has written about the quality of life for persons with disabilities. Ms. Sana Samara prepared a material about the runny saliva in children.  Furthermore, we read a translation by Alaia Abbas Ali about Expressive Language Disorders.  Professor Zaid bin Mohammed Al-Ramani has written about fair fiscal policy.
