SCHS RELEASES THE 342 ISSUE OF AL MANAL E-MAGAZINE

The 342 issue of Al Manal E-Magazine for September 2019, which is part of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) publications, released.  Her Highness Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Vice President of Supreme Council for Family Affairs & Director General of SCHS, is the chief editor. The publication aims at educating the Arab family, providing it with information, theoretical, and applied knowledge as well as training programs and raising their health awareness.

The “Research and Studies” section included a study by Mr. Hazem Ahmed Sayed Ahmed on the effects of a therapeutic recreational program on improving some motor functions of children with cerebral palsy in the lower body parts.  In addition, we read about inclusive education by Mr. Nazim Fawzi.  We learn from Mr. Abdullah Aoufi about the importance of teaching children with hearing impairment sign language at an early age.  Mr. Maher Zahran speaks to readers about the basics of guidance throughout playing.  Al Manal closes this section with a study by Mr. Mohamed Abdel Moneim Keshta on educational supervision and contemporary trends.

In “Assistive Technology” section, we read about incorporating technology to serve people with disabilities. In Al Manal “Culture and Literature” section, we read a material about God’s gifts and mercy by Ms. Shakra Rashed. Mr. Adel Youssef Raslan gives us an idea about using drama in treating and developing the skills of students with autism. Mr. Mohammed Nabulsi talks about (One Great Love) as an ideal model for inclusive films. Mr. Ahmed Al-Majid introduce us to the writer Luigi Pirandello, who defeated poverty and disease and won a Nobel Prize.  Mr. Hisham Kattami prepared a book review for “The Power of Social Intelligence” by Tony Buzan.

Al Manal “Activities and Events” section is full of news.  First, SCHS organized a welcoming ceremony for its employees at Sharjah Cultural Palace. SCHS Center for Assistive Technology presented two tablets to one of SCHS students.  The first tablet will help him communicate, while the other one will help him eat.  SCHS concludes the activities of summer caravan. Ms. Abeer Ismail talks about hosting a conference in Alexandria, Egypt on easy reading.

The “Social Issues” section is full with interesting articles.  It includes an important article prepared by the Executive Office of Sharjah Age Friendly City Program.  Mr. Fahim Sultan al-Qudsi tells us about the environmental and social barriers that kills the joy of Eid (Feast).  Ms. Bassima Mowaffaq Al Omari prepares a report about youngsters rejecting to tie the knot of marriage.  We read an article about Container Baby Syndrome and its negative effects translated by Ms. Freeza Mahmoud Abdel Hadi.  Finally, SCHS Social Services Department prepared a material about the effect of snoring on gravity.

We continue our journey in the new Al Manal issue in which we read in “Life” section the touching story of Mr. Ashraf Tahboub, who is a role model for persons with disabilities as his mother Mrs. Jalila Shaaban Badr describes him.  We read also the success story of the assistant teacher Khaled Suleiman who has many practical skills and sports achievements.  Mr. Ahmed Naguib El-Sayed writes about the personal experience of (Ahmed Onna), a photographer with hearing impairment.  Mr. Osama Nadim Mardini, Al Manal Managing Editor, has written an article about the unlimited achievements of people with disabilities.

In “Opinion” section, we explore the prevention of language disorders.  Dr. Zaid bin Mohammed Alrmani talks about the skills required to avoid materialistic frustration.  We also read a translation by Al Manal Managing Editor for an article on the International Week of the Deaf (September 23 to 29, 2019) and its theme (Sign Language Is a Right for all). Ms. Nabila Sharaf gives us a set of tips to deal with the symptoms of hyperactivity. Finally, the Council of Social Workers prepared an article about how to increase a child's self-confidence.
