SCHS RELEASES THE 346 ISSUE OF AL MANAL E-MAGAZINE

The 346 issue of Al Manal E-Magazine for January 2020, which is part of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) publications, released.  Her Highness Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Vice President of Supreme Council for Family Affairs & Director General of SCHS, is the chief editor. The publication aims at educating the Arab family, providing it with information, theoretical, and applied knowledge as well as training programs and raising their health awareness.

In “Research and Studies” section, we read by Elene Stambo and the translation of the Neil Taher an article about the elements causing a nervous breakdown as expressed by people with autism spectrum disorder.  Al Manal editorial staff prepared a material about ways to guide families of children with intellectual disabilities. The Assistant Professor in the Anatomy Department of the Faculty of Medicine in the International University of Africa Mr. Rehab Siddiq Muhammad Al-Zaki has written an article on anatomy of the human ear.  Diana Faisal Hashem Shatnawi has written an article about the inverted class and its effect on learning motivation.  We close the “Research and Studies” section with a material about the means of social empowerment for persons with disabilities, which Ms. Rania Al-Sawy Abdo Abdul Qawi prepared.

In “Culture and Literature” section, we read about His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah announcing the beginning of the lexical editing of the historical Dictionary of the Arabic language.  Editor-in-Chief, Osama Nadim Mardini, prepared a review of the movie (piano), which tells the story of a deaf pianist who travels to New Zealand and the dramatic events that take place there.

The Council of Social Workers in Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services provides a new article on the culture of absent joy.  We also read a story written by Dana Gabriel and the drawings of Hussam Dana, which talks about reconciling with a prosthetic leg and walking again. As for Hisham Kattami, he provides an article entitled “Communication Skills between Individuals at Work”.

Al Manal “Activities and Events” section is full of news as usual.  The Hashemite University in the Kingdom of Jordan granted Her Highness Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi an Honorary Doctorate in Special Education.  Her Highness Sheikha Jameela said that His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has put his trust in her since the moment he decided to let her manage SCHS.  This prestigious institute, which due to his financial and moral support, parental guidance, and insightful vision, was able to accomplish so much, offer more services, and become as His Highness wanted it. His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi said, “Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services does not only work in Sharjah or United Arab Emirates or the gulf region.  It offers its services to persons with disabilities and all people in any place on the planet”.

We read about the participation of Director General of SCHS in the International Taekwondo meeting in Moscow.  As part of the activities marking Sharjah as World Book Capital and with more than one million books, Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) is going to organize, the Seventh Used Book Fair from February 26 to 29, 2020, at Palm Park on the shores of Khalid Lake, Sharjah.

In addition, we read about SCHS celebrations of UAE 48 National Day and Al Wafa School for Capacity Development celebrations of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and organizing the first camp for self-advocacy.  CARF praises Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services.  

Two students from Al Amal School for the Deaf won the first and second places in the 24 UCMAS International Competition and Her Highness Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi gave a statement to mark this occasion.  We also read by Hind Bint Abdulaziz Al-Shuwayer, a Regional Director of the Regional Secretariat for the Arab Region in the World Federation of the Deaf a material on the Arab Deaf Forum.

In the same section, we read about Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services Branch in Kallba city plans to organize Winter Camp, which is the first of its kind in the eastern coast, for persons with disabilities and their families.  Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services organizes the first training course to prepare Para Taekwondo instructors in cooperation with the Council of People of Determination in Dubai Police, the Emirates Taekwondo Federation and the UAE Paralympic Committee.  

In “Social Issues” section, we read by Khadija Ahmed Bamakhramah on the role of tolerance in the advancement of nations.  Yasmine Tahseen Taher prepared a material about a mother’s story with the stubbornness of her child with Down syndrome. We read about encouraging the child to discover himself by Dr. Fayez Shalati. We close the section with an article submitted by the Council of Social Workers on international social service.

“From Life” section includes a report by Asdaa Association from the Arab Republic of Egypt (Alexandria) about the winning of a number of Deaf Egyptians of the LEGO Robot Award held in Hungary.  In an interview, Al Manal introduces us to Moza Al-Ketbi, a deaf student who has become a teacher in SCHS branch in Dhaid.

Al Manal 346 concludes with “Opinion” section, which contains a translation by Mr. Wael Allam on the post-diagnosis stage.  We also read by Raya Al-Jader and Daren Al-Sarraj’s a translation about the people who believe that a person’s disability means depression! Dr. Muhannad Salah Al-Azzeh, has written an article entitled (In its own way). We also read an article entitled (More Questions about Disability Life) by Beth and the translation of the Neil Taher. Finally, Dr. Zaid bin Muhammad Al-Romani has written about (the wonders of economics).
