SCHS RELEASES THE 349 ISSUE OF AL MANAL E-MAGAZINE
The 349 issue of Al Manal E-Magazine for April 2020, which is part of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) publications, released. Her Highness Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director General of SCHS, is the chief editor. The publication aims at educating the Arab family, providing it with information, theoretical, and applied knowledge as well as training programs and raising their health awareness.
In “Research and Studies” section, we read about teaching strategies for persons with intellectual disabilities, a material prepared by Ayman Al-Qadi. We also read by Munira bint Sulayman bin Abdulaziz Al-Hudayb about the importance of providing post-secondary transitional services for students with learning difficulties. Amal Ezzat prepared an article on sensory integration and language building for the blind deaf. Hala Saeed Halawa prepared a material about making friends among children with autism spectrum disorder. Al Manal closes the section with a topic prepared by the editorial board on distance education.
The “Culture and Literature” section includes a variety of topics and articles such as interpersonal communication skills at work, a subject presented by Hisham Mohamed Ketami. Al-Manal Editor-in-Chief, Osama Nadim Mardini, presented a review for the trainee film, "Experience Never Ages".
In the same section, we read about the reasons that make people read novels by Hanna Frank-man and the translation of Hashem Kata. We read a topic titled (Inspiring History Makers: Annie Sullivan and Helen Keeler) by Saeed Ramadan Ali. Al Manal closes the section with an article presented by Khadija Ahmed Bamakhramah entitled (Watch your thoughts and actions).
In “Social Issues” section, we read articles on social solidarity in the face of outbreak of the coronavirus, written by Dr. Khaled Al-Sharqawi Al-Samouni. We also read from Dr. Jamal Muhammad Saeed Al-Khatib's translation about the coronavirus and 16 ways to maintain mental health. The Social Service Department in SCHS provides us with an article entitled (Making children sleep at the same time every night, improves their behavior later). Dr. Nadia Muhammad Ratib writes about guiding families with children with disabilities to deal with their children’s psychological problems. Dr. Salah-Addin Morsi Hafiz has written about the problem of bullying... causes, treatment and prevention.
In “From Life” and “Opinion” sections, we read an article prepared by Osama Madbouly, in which he summarizes instructions for parents of children with disabilities on how to act at home because of curfew. We also read by Dr. Asaad Sharif Al-Emara on coronavirus, is it a global collective panic? "Is reading novels a waste of time?" Hamad Abdul-Aziz Al-Hamid asks. From the preparation and supervision of Muhammad Abu Zahra, we get to know Abdul Salam Zu'rob, who is a role model for deaf students.
In Al Manal 349, we read about the annual report 2019, which is full of Sharjah Foundation for Social Empowerment achievements. We learn about the daily lifestyle of people with autism in the face of coronavirus by Dr. Liz Matisse and the translation of the Nile Taher. Al Manal closes the section with an article by Dr. Muhannad Salah Al-Azzeh on the coronavirus crisis in Jordan and the need to respond to coexistence requirements.
Al Manal “Activities and Events” section is full of news as usual. Huge success for the Seventh Used Book Festival in Sharjah. Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services exempt parents from the fees of the third semester. The Sixth General Conference of the Arab Organization for Persons with Disabilities and the election of Dr. Nawaf Kabbara as president of the organization. Sharjah Women’s Union Association donates 50,000 AED to SCHS Physical and Occupational Therapy Department. Sheikha Jameela and the Swedish Ambassador opens (accessibility – beyond physical) Gallery. SCHS discusses means of cooperation with Pearson International. Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammad Al Qasimi emphasizes the importance of keeping SCHS ready for the future with strategic plans.
Finally, we read an article entitled: who protects the rights of persons with disabilities in the coronavirus crisis? In addition, we read the statement of the Arab Organization for Persons with Disabilities on the effects of coronavirus.
