SCHS RELEASES THE 357 ISSUE OF AL MANAL E-MAGAZINE

The 357 issue of Al Manal E-Magazine for March 2021, which is part of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) publications, released.  The publication aims at educating the Arab family, providing it with information, theoretical, and applied knowledge as well as training programs and raising their health awareness.  Her Highness Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director General of SCHS, is the Editor-in-Chief of Al Manal Magazine.

In “Assistive Technology” section, we read an article on the development of user-focused assistive technology, which Ex-Manal Editor-in-Chief Osama Nadeem Martini translated and prepared for publication before he passed away.

In “Research and Studies” section, Abdullah Al-Ghamdi writes about common mistakes in tests and measures and their impact on people with learning difficulties and some other groups of people with disabilities.  We read about traits in mothers that may refer to genetic variants of autism, a material translated by Dr. Yasser bin Mahmoud Al-Fahd.

Prepared by Mohamed Fawzi, we learn about the environmental map and early intervention. Prepared by Ilias Tabaa, we read about a new vision in audio verbal therapy. Prepared by the Council of Psychologists and Educational Supervisors in SCHS, we read about the provision of psychological first aid.

“Societal Issues” section is full in this issue with letters from people with Down syndrome to all of you, written by Usama Madbouly. Dr. Nora Al-Sharabi, writes about the professions of good and bad. Maymouna Hussain Al-Kindi wrote about tantrums, why they occur, and the way to respond to them. We also read an article on cybersecurity prepared by Mia Al-Raissi.  We read about hearing impairment and inbreeding, a topic prepared by the Council of Social Workers.

In Al Manal “Opinion”, section makes no controversial.  It rather opens the way for dialogue and discussion on many issues of concern to the family and society.  In this section, Wael Allam translated an article entitled (flexibility). By Dr. Ghassan Shahrour, we read about universal health coverage and the protection of everyone everywhere.  By Fadi Muhammad Al-Dahdouh, we read about talents and steadfastness strategy in an era of challenges.  Dr. Faiz Shalati writes about the threshold of fear and the age of anxiety.  We close this section with an article by Dr. Zaid bin Muhammad al-Ramani entitled (Victory in the Battle of Life).

The section on culture and literature includes many topics in this issue, including the material prepared by the Al Manal Editorial Board on the opening of the House of Wisdom by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah. We also read from the translation of Hisham Mohamed Ketami about the importance of theater in our present time. By Leen Tamimi, we read about the influence of the word!  We also read about (Bollywood) the fourth largest Indian cinema and disability.  Written by Muhammad Al-Nabulsi and prepared by Manar Hawashin and Bashar Qa`qa, we read about Occupational Therapy.

‘From Life’ section includes an article by Sarah Salah Ramadan on her experience with her beloved sister. We also read a reportage by journalist Maha Adel in Al Khaleej newspaper entitled (The experience of families of children with disabilities with Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services in distance education).  From the preparation of the Media Center for Persons with Disabilities, we read about Ola Ammar, who faced disability with determination to the top.  Prepared by Hisham Mohamed Ketami, we read about Hans Asperger as one of the most influential figures in the field of disability.

Al Manal Activities and Events are full as usual. The Art for All Center colors peace paintings in the exhibition (UAE Peace).  Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services uses the (Caligo) application in education.  (Behavior Management) is a new publication by Sharjah Center for Learning Difficulties and Sharjah Education Council.  Sheikha Jameela Al Qasimi supervises an exceptional session for the Media Production and Training Center. About 26 players with disabilities participated in the Para Taekwondo tests.  Cooperation with scientific institutions serves the health sector in the country, 46 paintings by artists with disabilities in the exhibition (Without Walls), and a memorandum of understanding signed between SCHS and the University of Sharjah.
