SCHS signs a memorandum of understanding with Zulekha Healthcare Group

A memorandum of understanding was signed by Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) and "Zulekha Healthcare Group" with the intention of realizing their shared vision, fortifying their current relationship, and improving collaboration in the areas of nursing, health, and awareness services for SCHS's employees and students with disabilities.

The memorandum was signed on behalf of SCHS by its Director General, Ms. Mona Abdul Karim Al-Yafai. The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Siraj Master, Senior Vice President, and Dr. Anirudh Lahiri, Senior Director, representing the Zulekha Healthcare Group.

In accordance with the terms of the memorandum, the two parties agree to exchange training visits, share experiences, give lectures or attend conferences in a way that enhances staff productivity and benefits from shared experiences, and work together to facilitate and ease access for people with disabilities in the built environment.

Along with encouraging both parties' employees to volunteer and participate in community events and activities, they also pledge to organize joint health awareness and guidance activities that aim to raise awareness and health education, methods of dealing with and intervening with people with disabilities when health problems arise, and working together to provide the necessary support and health care for people with disabilities.

An Inclusive and Supportive Community

According to Mrs. Mona Abdul Karim Al-Yafai, the memorandum of understanding with "Zulekha Healthcare Group" is part of SCHS's dedication to enhancing and expanding collaboration with public and private community organizations in order to offer the best services possible to individuals with disabilities, their parents, and those who work with them.

She said, “We strive with our partners to build an inclusive and supportive society for all its members, as caring for people with disabilities and their healthy quality of life is not only an institutional responsibility, but a shared human and societal duty.”

Comprehensive healthcare

She added, “SCHS attaches great importance to the quality of health services provided to people with disabilities. It believes that providing comprehensive and accessible health care to people with disabilities, their families, and those working with them is not just a service, but a basic human right that guarantees them a decent life and active participation in society.” She explained that future areas of cooperation with the Zulekha Healthcare Group will, God willing, witness an increased focus on health services also provided to people with severe and multiple disabilities.

In conclusion, the Director General of SCHS expressed her thanks and appreciation to Zulekha Healthcare Group for the fruitful cooperation that confirms its commitment to the principles of social responsibility and its keenness to support SCHS in the services it provides to students with disabilities in accordance with the best global practices.

For her part, Mrs. Zenobia Shams, Co-Chairperson of Zulekha Healthcare Group, expressed her commitment to the partnership, saying, “Our mission has always been based on a legacy of compassion, a value passed down through generations.
