SHARJAH CITY FOR HUMANITARIAN SERVICES CELEBRATES UAE 48 NATIONAL DAY

Nov 28, 2019

Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) congratulated United Arab Emirates leadership and His Highness Sheikh Khalifah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, the people of Emirates, and its residents on the 48 National Day.  SCHS wished the best to everyone in this giving country.

With pride, love, and noble sentiments, SCHS celebrated UAE 48 National Day under the umbrella of the union.  This day bring us back to 2 December 1971 when the leaders of the UAE met and signed the Union Document and announced the establishment of the United Arab Emirates.

To mark this occasion, SCHS celebrated United Arab Emirates 48 National Day.  Students with disabilities, their parents, and the workers of SCHS participated in the signing of the document of loyalty and belonging to the homeland to spread the culture of peace and peaceful coexistence adapted by the United Arab Emirates.

SCHS cares to celebrate this national day every year.  Everyone loves United Arab Emirates including persons with disabilities, who expressed their love in their own way.  They deliver a message full of belonging and love to their country, which has given them so much in every area of life.

SCHS celebrates the National Day every year because it is a Day for Unity. Today and in the coming days, everyone will work to highlight the noble values embedded in the authentic Emirati identity, the long-standing national traditions and the diversity of the many cultures that coexist on UAE soil in harmony.

Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services has been working hard since four decades to include, advocate, and empower persons with disabilities by offering them the best services according to the best practices worldwide.  Moreover, SCHS had continued efforts to consolidate the relationships of partnership and cooperation with local, regional, and international humanitarian institutions.

The speeches at today's ceremony called for remembering the value of tolerance. Therefore, His Highness Sheikh Khalifah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, declared 2019 as the Year of Tolerance in the UAE to establish itself as a global capital of tolerance and work to enhance the values of tolerance, dialogue and acceptance of the other and living with diverse cultures.

They also called for the remembrance of the words of His Highness the President of the UAE, who considered that the Year of Tolerance is an extension of the Year of Zayed as it carries the highest values that the late Sheikh Zayed worked to establish among the people of the UAE. His Highness said that establishing tolerance is an extension of Zayed's approach.  It is a fundamental value in building societies, preserving the stability of States and the happiness of nations. The most important thing that we can plant in our people minds is Zayed's values and his humanitarian heritage, as well as deepening the principle of tolerance among our children.

In addition, speakers called for restoring and recalling the most important advice of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, which is avoiding arrogance, believing that a great person should be humble and tolerant with others, because tolerance among humans leads to compassion; man must be compassionate and peaceful with his fellow man.

Notably, the number of persons with disabilities who benefited from SCHS services in the academic year 2018 – 2019 has reached 2339 from different nationalities.  SCHS only considers benefiting those persons with disabilities as a main condition for their enjoyment of the services.
