SHEIKH MOHAMMED BIN HUMAID COMMENCES THE 21ST SESSION OF THE "SANABEL AL MAHABBA" FESTIVAL

On Wednesday, March 1, 2023, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Head of the Department of Statistics and Community Development, commenced the activities of the 21st session of the (Sanabel Al Mahabba) Festival, which Al Wafaa School for Capacity Development of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS), organizes every year.

Her Excellency Mona Abdul Karim, Director of SCHS, His Excellency Rashid Ali Rashid Dimas Al Suwaidi, Director General and Commissioner of the Charitable Friends of Patients House in Sharjah, and Mr. Ali Rashid Dimas Al Suwaidi, member of the Patients Friends Charitable House attended the opening ceremony, which began with the national anthem of the UAE. In addition, His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Salem Al-Junaibi, Director of the Red Crescent Authority in Sharjah, Ms. Moza Matar Al-Aqroubi, Director of Partner Relations Department - Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, and Mr. Haji Baba, Chairman of Al-Qaed International Group for General Trade attended as well. Executive Ali Shameen, Mr. Amir Chakko Marakara Kathu Shathiri, Financial and Administrative Director of Malabar Group Gold, Engineer Muhammad Othman from the municipality of Al-Bataeh area, a large number of students, teachers of private and government schools of the Ministry of Education and parents were present as well.

The Military Musical Band of the Police Academy at the Sharjah Police General Headquarters presented a group of enthusiastic patriotic pieces that received the admiration and approval of the audience. Then, the activities of the (Sanabel Al-Mahaba Festival) started.

As part of the opening protocol, Her Excellency Mona Abdul Karim accompanied His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed and the audience on an introductory tour to a number of sections and classes of Al Wafaa School. His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi praised the services and educational programs that SCHS provides to support persons with disabilities and their parents.

He also stressed the continuity of cooperation between the Department of Statistics and Community Development and SCHS for everything benefit people with disabilities, their parents and society in general.

The Head of the Department of Statistics and Community Development extended his thanks and appreciation to all employees of SCHS, led by Her Excellency Sheikha Jamila bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, Head of SCHS. He wished them continued success.

In turn, His Excellency Rashid Dimas Al-Suwaidi praised the remarkable participation of school students in (Sanabel Al-Mahaba), which confirms their keenness to support their fellow students with disabilities and contribute to the activities that would develop the services provided by SCHS to them in line with the latest and best international practices.

For his part, His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Salem Al Junaibi, Director of the Sharjah Red Crescent Authority, thanked SCHS in appreciation of the services, programs and activities it provides to people with disabilities and the community. He highly appreciated the existing cooperation between SCHS and the Emirates Red Crescent in Sharjah in various activities and fields.

Dr. Samia Muhammad Salih, Director of Al-Wafaa School for Capacity Development, said that the aim of the festival for the year 2023 is to provide the best services and modern practices for people with disabilities, support student programs, and cover school activities throughout the year.

The festival is an annual activity that includes many entertainment events. The proceeds of the festival goes towards developing and improving school’s programs and services. In addition, it invites community members to learn about the services provided to persons with disabilities and contribute to supporting and providing them through various kinds of donations.

SCHS has been organizing the festival since 1998.
