A DELEGATION FROM THE ISLAMIC INSTITUTE AT KPH UNIVERSITY VISITS SCHS

On Monday, October 30, 2023, Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS), received a delegation from the Islamic Institute at KPH University in the Republic of Austria, within the framework of coordination and cooperation between SCHS and the University City in Sharjah. The visit aims at reviewing the services provided by SCHS to persons with disabilities, and the most recent teaching techniques that are applied in classrooms, centers, and departments.

The delegation was received by Her Excellency Mona Abdul Karim Al-Yafei, Director General of SCHS, Mr. Muhammad Fawzi, Director of the Early Intervention Center, Mr. Saeed Butti Hadid, Public Relations Officer, and Ms Fatima Al Hinai, International Relations Executive.

The members of the delegation expressed deep thanks and gratitude for the warm welcome. They praised SCHS’s pioneering role and its endeavor to include, advocate and empower persons with disabilities. They also admired its community awareness role that it plays in order to reflect the right image of people with disabilities and work to integrate them into society and permanently improve their quality of life.

The members of the delegation said, “Interacting with students with disabilities as they receive education and knowledge in their classrooms is a distinctive experience”. They confirmed that the level reached by SCHS is par excellence with international standards. They expressed their admiration for the teaching and training methods used within the classrooms.

In turn, the Director General of SCHS confirmed that the delegation’s visit falls within the framework of SCHS’s keenness to maintain the best international, regional, and local relations, share experiences and knowledge, and provide the opportunity for its guests to learn about its pioneering and continuous experience since 1979.

She said, “SCHS’s leadership in serving people with disabilities goes back 44 years. It provides services to people with disabilities from birth to working age and always seeks to include, advocate, educate and empower them in accordance with the best international practices in cooperation with various individuals and institutions in the field”.

Al Yafei explained to the guest delegation the nature of the services, programs and activities provided by SCHS in line with the directives of Her Excellency Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, President of SCHS. Her Excellency adopts the issues of persons with disabilities to enable them to live in dignity and independence. She always works to diversify the methods of education that SCHS provides to its students. SCHS is keen to ensure the development of their skills and abilities.
