A DELEGATION FROM THE PRINCESS TAGHRID INSTITUTE FOR DEVELOPMENT

On Thursday, November 16, 2023, Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) received a delegation from The Princess Taghrid Institute for Development and Training, From the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. It included: Dr. Agadir Jweihan, Director General of the Institute, Ms. Ghazal Atoum, Director of International Programs at the Institute, Mrs. Yasmine Al-Azhari, Representative of the Institute in Dubai, and Dr. Haneen Hiasat, Director-General of Learning Time Academy. The delegation was received by Her Excellency Mona Abdel. Al-Karim Al-Yafei, Director General of SCHS, and Mr. Saeed Butti Hadid, Public Relations Officer. The visit is part of developing and strengthening cooperation relations with institutions, centers, and entities, locally, regionally and internationally.

The visit aims to review the services, programs, and activities that SCHS provides to its students with disabilities in accordance with the best international practices, and to discuss ways of cooperation between the two sides, especially in the field of the latest measurement and diagnostic tools approved for people with disabilities in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Dr. Agadir expressed the delegation’s admiration for the distinguished level of SCHS’s services, and integrated inclusion by covering all age groups and disabilities. She noted that SCHS’s distinguished status confirms the interest and keenness of the United Arab Emirates, in general, and the Emirate of Sharjah, in particular to continuously improve these services and improve the quality of life of people with disabilities in various fields.

She also expressed the delegation's happiness with this opportunity for cooperation and exchange of experiences between SCHS and The Princess Taghrid Institute for Development and Training and Learning Time Academy. She hopes that the very near future will witness a practical and fruitful application of this cooperation.

Her Excellency Mona Abdul Karim Al Yafei, Director General of SCHS, confirmed that, thanks to the unlimited support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and the directives President of SCHS, Her Excellency Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, SCHS has assumed a global position par excellence, achieving many things and providing the finest and best services as a pioneering institution concerned with people with disabilities, working to include, advocate, empower and integrate them, and educate society about their issues and rights.

She spoke about the importance of the visit in enhancing cooperation between the two sides, especially regarding the latest measurement and diagnostic tools, and exchanging knowledge and experiences. She stressed that SCHS’s doors are open to all specialists and those interested locally, Arably, and globally to transfer experiences, exchange knowledge, and continuously improve the services provided to people with disabilities.
