SCHS RELEASES THE 360 ISSUE OF AL MANAL E-MAGAZINE

The 360 issue of Al Manal E-Magazine for June 2021, which is part of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) publications, released.  The publication aims at educating the Arab family, providing it with information, theoretical, and applied knowledge as well as training programs and raising their health awareness.  Her Highness Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director General of SCHS, is the Editor-in-Chief of Al Manal Magazine.

The Editor-in-Chief, Her Excellency Sheikha Jamila Al Qasimi, wrote an article entitled “People with Disabilities are the Most Affected by Corona.” She spoke about the great impact of the pandemic on people with disabilities and their parents in all areas. She also talked about some of the city's achievements in facing the pandemic and Distance Education.

Within the activities of Al-Manal, we read about the Al-Manal Forum (Simply. Easy Read and Disability), which the city organized to celebrate the entry of Al-Manal magazine into its new year. The Magazine continued working for about 35 years for a better future for society in general and for people with disabilities and their families in particular.

In Al Manal “Social Issues”, Mr. Fouda Fattouh Al Askari wrote about guidelines to support the positive behavior of a child with autism spectrum disorder in the home environment. Dr. Rawhi Abdat also wrote about working from home as an "opportunity to achieve occupational justice for people with disabilities."

Mr. Hazem Dahi Shehadeh writes about Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services' demands to promote equal employment opportunities and non-discrimination in employment and the ways in which the city has employed 417 people with disabilities in the public and private sectors since 1989.

Within the same section, Fares Al-Hadi wrote an article about the challenges and aspirations in employing persons with disabilities. Marwa Madi prepared an article from which we learn about ways to protect children's hearing during the summer vacation.

In "Research and Studies" section, Elias Tabbaa prepared an article entitled (A New Vision in Audio-Verbal Therapy). Renwa El Hefnawy has prepared a material on the linguistic characteristics of the hearing impaired.  We review the first part of the Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) in physical therapy.  Mr. Bashar Nasser Al-Shamaas translated this article.

Wael Ahmed Allam prepared a research summary on the development of team resilience to prevent burnout in formal internal care institutions. Amani Attia Muhammad Attia wrote a study summary on the effectiveness of a training program based on mental arithmetic using an abacus to develop basic arithmetic skills for children with mild mental disabilities.

In "From Life" section, Al-Manal editorial board wrote about a distinguished model embodied by Mrs. Ikhlas Kaafani, who confirms that she was born twice; the first is in her home and the second is in Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services. We also read about the importance of sports as a way of life. In addition, Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services was the first to adopt the right of persons with disabilities to obtain driving licenses and parking spaces.

In "Culture and Literature" section, Nidaa Tajeddin Ali wrote an article on (Dandy Walker Syndrome). Mr. Mohamed Fawzi Yousef has prepared an article on the benefits of connecting children with nature. The reasons they prefer outdoor learning environments. Moreover, Sheikha Yousef Al-Awadi has also written about thalassemia. Ruba Waleed Abu Al-Huda wrote about time management, and Hisham Muhammad Katami wrote about the wisdom of the Tik Tok civilization, "a practical guide to personal freedom."

In "Opinion", Mrs. Amna Ibrahim Al-Zaabi wrote about hyperactivity disorder. Marwa Madi has written about the positive impact of hearing protection on mental health. Mr. Mohamed Fawzy Yousef prepared a material on natural environments in physiotherapy services for the early intervention stage. Mr. Wade Bradford wrote an article on how to read a theatrical script. Mr. Hashem Kateh translated this article. Finally, Fariza Mahmoud Abdel-Hadi wrote an article on job burnout syndrome.
