SCHS SERVES 2339 STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES

At the beginning of the new academic year, the administrative and educational bodies of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) participated on Sunday, September 8, 2019 in the reception organized for students with disabilities and their parents.

Therefore, SCHS departments and branches organized a group of events and recreational activities to prepare students to be back in classes.  In addition, teachers are going to take general remarks and set individual plans and programs in the first week of school.  On the other hand, SCHS organized a complete evaluation for students in presence of their parents in the last week before school.

Mrs. Mona Abdel Karim, Director of SCHS, confirmed that SCHS sections and branches prepared a comprehensive program to receive students warmly.  This program focuses on motivating students to learn and integrate into society.

Mrs. Mona has pointed out that according to Her Highness Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Vice President of Supreme Council for Family Affairs & Director General of SCHS, instructions, SCHS must follow the lead of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.  SCHS has been always making efforts to improve education as a leading institute looking after persons with disabilities in United Arab Emirates.

Mrs. Mona said that 605 employees including 50 with disabilities offer services to 2339 students with physical, hearing, and mental disabilities.  She also confirmed that SCHS always hires the best specialists, trainers, and teachers in order to do its best to advocate, include, and empower persons with disabilities in every area of life.

Mrs. Mona said, “SCHS seeks to consolidate the relationships of cooperation with local, regional, and international bodies in order to provide the best services to persons with disabilities”.

For their part, parents praised the splendid reception, which SCHS prepared for their children and the desire of SCHS administrative staff to be present since the early morning accompanied by teachers to welcome students and share the first moments with the beginning of the new school year.
