SEVEN STUDENTS FROM THE HASHEMITE UNIVERSITY TRAIN IN SCHS

The relationships, which Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) has with international, regional and local bodies, are increasing in line with its leadership and the services it provides to persons with disabilities in accordance with the best international practices.

As part of the memorandum of cooperation signed between SCHS and the Hashemite University from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, SCHS is organizing a training program for a number of students from the Department of Special Education at the Hashemite University until April 28.

Dr. Iman Al-Zouboon, Head of the Department of Special Education at the Hashemite University, has confirmed that seven of the department's students are going to train on SCHS accredited programs. This training is part of their study plan and will serve as a practical exercise for the theoretical information they have previously received.

She said, “The program also aims at increasing students’ self-confidence and teach them new skills through direct interaction with students with disabilities and their teachers before they become educators with the ability to deal with persons with disabilities in an optimal way”.

Dr. Iman explained that all the international standards that the Hashemite University wants its students to train on are available in Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services. Especially since the level of services in it is not less than the highest international levels.  She praised the various educational methods that SCHS provides to its students and seeks to develop their skills in all fields.

On behalf of the President of the Hashemite University, Dr. Fawaz Al-Zouboon, and university students, the head of the Jordanian delegation directed her sincerest thanks to Her Highness Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director General of SCHS, and Mrs. Mona Abdel Karim, Director of SCHS, for the warm reception and the provision of all measures that ensure the success of the program. 

Mrs. Mona Abdel Karim emphasized that activating the memorandum of cooperation between the two sides by receiving the first batch of students from the Department of Special Education will continue through visits by the cadres working with both parties and delivering lectures in addition to coordination of programs and conferences such as the Scientific Conference as well as sharing experiences. 

Mrs. Mona has pointed out that SCHS will continue its efforts to consolidate the relationships of cooperation with local, regional, and international bodies.  Due to its leadership and the services offered to persons with disabilities, SCHS has become a role model for many local, regional, and international centers, institutes, and bodies, which trust its expertise. 

The Director of SCHS believes that SCHS will not stop its efforts to improve quality of life for persons with disabilities. It is keen on setting future strategic plans based on hard and professional work to achieve more of the best results.

Finally, Mrs. Mona directed her sincerest thanks to the President of the Hashemite University, Dr. Fawaz Al-Zouboon and the former president Dr. Kamal Al-Din Bani Hani.  Special thanks went to Queen Rania College for Childhood and the Department of Special Education with hops to achieve more cooperation in the upcoming days.

In October 2019, Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services signed a memorandum with the Hashemite University in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to achieve the common vision, improve the quality of services offered to persons with disabilities, and develop cooperation in the academic, research, training and diagnostic fields. In addition, the agreement encourage visits by the cadres working with both parties, delivering lectures, coordinating programs, exchanging experiences and knowledge necessary to build training programs and curricula for children with disabilities and exchanging books, publications, scientific brochures, curricula and study materials between the two sides. Both parties would work to establish joint research teams in the field of special education.

The memorandum also includes the promotion of refereed international conferences and specialized seminars on pre-agreed topics and cooperating in scientific research centers and joint authorship and work to publish approved research in refereed journals and exchange of dissertations and university theses.
