Feb 23, 2020

Her Highness Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director General of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS), is very proud of the world standing, which SCHS reached during its long journey, which is full of giving and achievements.  The most recent of which was its accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

CARF International is an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services. SCHS has obtained its accreditation for three years in the category (Services for Children and Adolescents and Early Intervention Services).

To mark this occasion, Her Highness Sheikha Jameela directed her sincerest thanks to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, who is an honoree president of SCHS. She confirmed that these global achievements are due to the unlimited support of His Highness and his constant advocacy for the rights of persons with disabilities.

She said, “SCHS shows a great interest in globalization throughout strategic planning and achieve ideal results by staying tuned with the latest trends in disability field according to the best international practices”.

In addition, SCHS strives to consolidate the relationships of cooperation with local, regional, and international bodies as well as providing the best services to persons with disabilities.

Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services is the first institute for persons with disabilities in the United Arab Emirates to receive this accreditation. CARF International has confirmed that SCHS is in line with the required standards and is committed to continuously improving services in innovative ways.

The value of accreditation lies in the fact that it allows the institution to improve business with excellence in service and strategy in quality, vision, positivity and risk management while developing business strategies, competitive excellence and activating relationships with partners.

Her Highness clarified the importance of obtaining CARF accreditation in developing academic and professional services provided for persons with disabilities, leading to the best results in including, advocating, empowering and integrating them into society.

This is not the first time in which SCHS receives an international accreditation.  SCHS received international accreditation from Pearson, the leading global educational institution, to teach Pearson’s programs from United Kingdom. Pearson is the world’s largest education institute that brings together global educational content and assessment backed by services and technology.

The Director General of SCHS directed her sincerest thanks to the two institutions for their cooperation.  Special thanks went to SCHS team after confirming that collaborative work and dedication are key elements to success.

Finally, CARF sent a report to SCHS saying, “We praise the wise management of SCHS, its professional team, and its profound relationships with institutions, entities, centers and families as key partners in providing comprehensive services. These services are appropriate for the needs of the beneficiaries and their families in terms of evaluation, individual plans, and students follow-up from the early intervention stage until they reaches Masarat Center for Development and Empowerment”.
